Welcome to my private practice
I help people of all ages, adult individuals, teens, couples, parents and families. I particularly enjoy working with young adults and older adults. I provide therapy for a variety of mental health issues including anxiety and depression. I also counsel clients with life transitions, relationship issues, work stress, parenting, and grief. I have extensive experience in treating single incident trauma and phobias (including performance anxiety) with Eye Movement Desensitizing Reprocessing (EMDR).
Dr. Kennard listened, diagnosed and prescribed a method of therapy that I had never heard of (EMDR - Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing), but completely cured me of a case of stage fright that has spanned almost a decade. As I'm writing this, I have performed four times in front of large audiences and experienced a level of mental focus and exhilaration that I've never felt, but knew existed for other performers. I am so grateful to her for helping me to discover the joy of performing, and would recommend her to anyone who is dealing with anxiety.

I suffer from depression and anxiety and was handling it well on my own until recently. I started seeing Dr. Kennard to help me through my difficult time. I've seen therapists in the past, so I was a little hesitant, but at our first session I felt very comfortable opening up. Dr. Kennard listens with empathy, patience, and has a non-judgmental approach. She suggested "tools" that helped me identify and focus on areas of personal growth and self-care. I'm doing well now and still see Dr. Kennard on occasion. I am grateful for her help and insight.

I was amazed to find that after only a handful of EMDR sessions, the anxiety that I had experienced for 15 years from a traumatic car accident was gone. I can now travel comfortably as a passenger without distress.
